One of the deep mysteries to me is our logo, the symbol of lust and knowledge, bitten into, all crossed with the colors of the rainbow in the wrong order. You couldn’t dream of a more appropriate logo: lust, knowledge, hope, and anarchy.

Find out the real thinking behind the Apple logo by reading an excellent interview with Rob Janoff, the designer of the logo.

Stefan Kanchev – applied graphic artist

KANCHEV, Stefan Kirov — applied graphic artist, honored with the Bulgarian State title “National artist” in 1971. He was born on 06 August 1915, in Kalofer, Bulgaria and he studied mural painting in the National Art Academy (1940–1945).

His works are so simple and yet so explicit and communicative:

You can check more of his works here.

Paula Scher – graphic designer – “Type is Image”

Paula Scher studied at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and began her graphic design career as a record cover art director at both Atlantic and CBS Records in the 1970s. From 1984, she co-founded and ran Koppel & Scher in New York for seven years, then joined Pentagram as a principal in 1991.

Watch a short movie about a great designer talking about his work. It is worth it! Believe me! (again, be patient if u have a slow connection. u need Quiktime to be able to see it).
